Policy Information

Use of the Charles River TMA Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program is limited to those who cannot travel home from work by their usual means due to any of the following circumstances:

  • Illness or severe crisis of participant or family member

  • Stranded at work due to carpool or vanpool emergency

  • If you have a non-routine work demand such as overtime so that you cannot commute by your normal means

Procedure for use:

  1. When an emergency arises, request a ride from Uber, Lyft, or any ridesharing app or cab company you wish.

  2. Screenshot receipt on your smart phone or request your receipt upon completion of trip. For tips, please do not exceed 20% of fare.

  3. Complete a Confirmation Report (Show Details and Inventory below) and forward the confirmation email to CRTMA with your receipt. CRTMA will mail you a reimbursement check.

CRTMA may charge employee the cost of any unauthorized use or abuse of the program. Unauthorized use includes but is not limited to personal errands, pre-planned appointments, business travel, mass transit delays or disruptions, weather related events.
